Jungla - Short, authentic book reviews

About

Jungla is a site for book readers.

Book reviews on Jungla are deliberately short and concise, and reviews are never more than 300 characters. Too much of the plot can be given away in traditional book reviews, and it can spoil the enjoyment of reading a book for the first time.

Follow the Jungla team on Twitter: @Jngla.

Traditional book reviews include pointless information about the reviewer that isn’t important. Reviewers often mention the author’s previous body of work, but this should be irrelevant. These reviews focus on the book standing up as a single work.

A book review should offer a quick judgement on whether to read the book or not. It should tantalise, like the blurb on the back cover.

These book reviews focus only on the subject, and the quality of writing. With these two points, a book reader can make up their own mind on whether they will enjoy it or not.

Jungla will eventually let you post reviews, recommend books and discuss books with other readers.

If you read often, you can also use Jungla to track your reading list, and talk to other members about what you have read, or are planning to read.

I’m always open to comments or suggestions from readers interested in helping the site or writing a review. If you are submitting a review, please follow the guidelines.

The best way to contact me is here – I’ll always respond.
