Character-driven story set in New Jersey across three generations. Beautifully written, and the story arcs elegantly, but it never captured my imagination. The cracked, ugly underside of a seemingly perfect veneer is predictable.  The despair of modern American family life has been captured more poignantly in Revolutionary Road.
